We also came across the wonderful stationery shop 'Fabriano boutique' - beautiful notebooks, paper and leather goods all made in Italy - and as my family already know, I can never have too many notebooks. It's almost enough just to go into the shop and inhale - paper and leather - an excellent combination. Some of their products are available in London at the V&A museum shop.
No visit to Italy is complete without taking home some huge chunks of parmesan, which we purchased in a small local delicatessen. We also visited the famous 'Peck' food halls to stock up on mozzarella, burrata, pesto and San Daniele ham, not to mention the wine.
Dinner on our last night was in a small local restaurant (we were the only tourists) called Time, via San Marco 5 http://ristorantetime.it/eng/home.html Delicious food cooked by young chefs using traditional ingredients and excellent value for money.
Well, that's all from Milan for a while, I can't wait to go back.
Ciao and A bientôt, Rebecca.
